Terms of use

Short version: this website explains a trade and takes enquiries. It does not diagnose your door, quote your job, or replace a technician's eyes. The longer version follows.

Guidance, not a diagnosis

Everything on this site, including the guides and the door sorter, is general guidance. The sorter suggests what a symptom usually points at; it cannot see your door, and its reads are not a diagnosis, a quote, or a promise about what any job will involve or cost. Honest answers need an inspection, which is why every path here ends at the enquiry form rather than a verdict.

Safety comes before convenience

Where this site says to stop using a door, leave a failed spring alone, or keep clear of an opening, that advice is deliberately conservative. Garage door springs store serious tension and spring work belongs to the trade. Nothing here should be read as instructions for repairing a door yourself, and mains electrical work is a licensed electrician's job in NSW.

Imagery and illustrations

Some images on this site are illustrative, stock or generated, used to show the kind of place and work this trade is about. They are not photographs of specific completed jobs or specific customers' homes, and no image here is a representation of a particular result.

No prices, on purpose

This site publishes no prices. Any figures you see elsewhere claiming to be ours are not ours. Pricing is quoted per job, in person, before work starts.

Content and links

The words, diagrams and layout of this site belong to Quiet Side Garage Doors; please do not republish them as your own. Links to external sources, such as government and standards bodies, are provided in good faith; their content is theirs and may change without our knowledge.

Liability, plainly

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general guidance published here in place of an on-site inspection. Nothing on this page limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes

If these terms change, the changed version appears on this page. Using the site means the current version applies.
